Kristina Gow Clever is a Certified Genealogist® and resides in southern Alabama. Her passion for genealogy began with letters from her mom, Sue Sisco, about her own family research. Kristina interviewed her paternal grandparents in 1986 and discovered that each had lost a parent at a very young age. She used that initial information to trace her paternal ancestors to Scotland and Norway. In 2005, Kristina became the recipient of 30+ years of her mom’s research, giving her the opportunity to explore her Southern roots.

Choose Clever Genealogy

Clever Genealogy (formerly Clever Genetic Ancestry) was founded by Kristina Gow Clever in 2017. Services include assistance with complex family research projects and DNA evidence analysis. This is accomplished through focused research of available historical documents and public records, analysis of DNA test results, and correlation of evidence. In addition, she provides educational opportunities to learn about sources and tools to use for successful family research. She adheres to the Code of Ethics of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Ethics and Standards adopted by the Board for Certification of Genealogists.

Kristina’s journey into DNA started in 2006 with Y-DNA and mtDNA testing and expanded to atDNA testing in 2012. She sought all available opportunities to learn more about DNA analysis and its benefits for enhancing family research. As her experience expanded, she began helping others who were searching for their biological roots. She manages nearly 50 kits for relatives encompassing all five major DNA testing companies (AncestryDNA, FamilyTreeDNA, MyHeritage, 23andMe, and LivingDNA) and the GEDmatch database, in addition to kits for clients).
